Recent Stock Sale III – April 2017

I continued selling companies and raise some cash. I believe that most of the selling is behind but market always manages to surprise me and throw some of its own curve balls: instead of correction, market had rallied in last few days.

I completely sold positions in following 2 companies: KMI and ABBV. As I said, I like all the companies that I’m selling, its just that valuations have got ahead of them self. However, I hope to purchase them at a better price at some point in future.

Currently, I’ve got remaining 34 companies, a fairly decent size for a diversified portfolio. I consider it prudent to sell some of the companies while the market is offering better prices, rather than waiting when it really starts tanking.

Are you considering to sell any company in near future?

  1. Google is getting up there where I might pull the sell button. But I would put it he cash on my lowest stocks wich would give me a nice big increase in dividends and help build my cash flow

    • Hi Doug,

FANG stocks are doing great, and tech stocks are on fire with nasdaq setting new records every day. However, as trees can not grow to sky and so, do these stocks. I think we are getting close to peak and valuations are getting extended: look at AMZN’s PE ratio of 187, FB’s: 45, etc. Its looking like dotcom version 2. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    • Hi BHL,

Good to know about your buying spree and generally, its a good idea as over very long haul, market will keep climbing with some downturns thrown for good measure. I’ll start buying sometime in future also, however, at this point, trimming is the order of the day. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    • Hi PCI,

Oh well, if we were as rich as buffett 🙂 we would not worry about pull out. I’ll be missing them over coming months. Hope that I’m able to add some at decent valuations when market corrects so that I can get to $3K in 3K. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
