Recent Stock Purchase III – August 2016

I added positions in 3 existing companies in third week of August. I plan to keep adding these dividend growth stocks to grow my passive dividend income to a point where all my expenses are covered by passive income generated by them.

Below are the companies where I put my capital on towards my race for earning $3000 per month in 3000 days. Last month, I completed 450 days of my freedom race and it was nice to have crossed $1000 in passive income for the third time this year. Without further ado:

1) The AES Corp. (AES): 25 positions at $12.24 on 8/15
2) Flower Foods, Inc. (FLO): 20 positions at $15.44 on 8/16
3) Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (HST): 10 positions at $18.04 on 8/15

Due to addition of new companies over last several months, total number is 95 wonderful companies in my portfolio.

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

  1. R2R,

I’ve been watching FLO closely myself. It is definitely getting in deep value territory. At the end of the day bread is a pretty simple and predictable business model. I hope to join you as a shareholder soon!

    • Hi MDP,

Yeah, FLO is definitely getting interesting, could not agree more. See you as a fellow shareholder and a happy camper in that company 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    • Hi IH,

We sure think alike, fantastic to hear! Looks like its an open season on FLO 🙂 Besides BNS, FLO is now high on my buying list. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    • Hi Lanny,

Yeah, FLO appears to be on the radar of almost all DGI investors right away. Its absolutely in the value territory and my buy zone. I’m ready to add more if prices drop more. Thanks for stopping by as always.

    • Hi TDM,

Congrats on adding FLO and a happy holder while the price recovers, and in the meantime collecting dividends 🙂 Its going to be one of my core holding in this segment. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  2. Been looking at Flo also but to many stocks not enough money. I am watching it to see how this lawsuit affects iit.
If it drops a little more I might pull the trigger even though I don’t plan on buying anything till the end of Sep.

    • Hi Doug,

Agreed. Lot many companies and less capital to lay our hand on them 🙂 DOL investigation will be resolved in due time and the price will recover. Its a good time to add to positions for long term investors. Good luck in your journey and thanks for stopping by.

      • I did some research and found out about the lawsuit and it involves 190 some drivers that are contract like every one of the similar companies use. Either fed ex or ups had the same problem settled out of court giving each driver 60,000 so if the same scenario happens it will hurt the bottom line a bit but they have the money and name to recover.
