Recent Stock Purchase II – December 2015

I invested in 2 companies: Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) and HCP, Inc. (HCP) in third week of Dec month. I plan to use these dividend growth stocks to grow my passive dividend income over coming weeks and months. Portfolio shows all my latest positions.

Below are the companies where I put my capital on towards my race for earning $3000 per month in 3000 days. Last month, I completed 210 days of my freedom race and it was exciting to have crossed $400 in passive income for the first time. Without further ado:

1) Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM): 20 positions at 35.19 on 12/21
2) HCP, Inc. (HCP): 30 positions at $36.57 on 12/21

Last few months, I’ve been buying several energy companies and it is no secret the pain DGI community and investors are enduring for holding them, with oil touching new lows. My portfolio got heavy weighted as a result of these buys and I decided to better balance it, resulting in trimming of Kinder Morgan Inc. (KMI) and also BHP Billiton (BHP). This will help in tax loss harvesting and trim tax bills also: hey, there is always a silver lining in every situation 🙂

Overall, I’ve 57 wonderful companies in my portfolio after addition of 2 recent companies: ADM and VGR. I’m getting closer to desired diversification across various sectors and adding few more quality blue-chip companies would round off my portfolio.

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Nice purchases. ADM has popped back up on my radar after the recent downturn. I still dont completely understand why the market is discounting the stock so much…seems like a pretty obvious buy to me at this level.

    • Hi R2R,

Yeah. I do not see it either, just that wall street does not like it and ADM has gone out of fashion. I like the solid fundamentals with low PE ratio, good dividend yield of over 3%, EPS of $2.87 and less than 50% payout. I like the story and will add more ADM going forward. Thanks for stopping by as always and commenting.
