Recent Stock Purchase I – May 2016

I added positions in 3 existing companies in first week of May. I’d added positions in an ETF few months back: S&P Metals and Mining (XME) as I do not own much of commodity or resources stocks and want to have some exposure to this beaten down sector. This sector looks quite promising and ready to take off in my opinion.

Below are the companies where I put my capital on towards my race for earning $3000 per month in 3000 days. Last month, I completed 360 days of my freedom race and it was nice to have crossed $700 in passive income for the 2nd time. Without further ado:

1) BHP Billiton, plc (BBL): 10 positions at $24.70 on 5/04
2) BCE, Inc. (BCE): 5 positions at $45.57 on 5/04
3) Ventas Corp (VTR): 5 positions at $64.75 on 5/04

Due to addition of new companies over last several months, total number went up to 89 in my portfolio. I’m watching following companies for adding in my portfolio, love to hear views of the DGI bloggers. If you like another company, please mention in below comments. Thank you for your opinions & suggestions.

1) Dow Chemical Co. (DOW)
2) Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY)
3) Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (HST)

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks except DOW, OXY, HST.

Are you considering to buy above companies or any other company in your watch list?

  1. Solid purchases. BBL is the only one that we don’t own in our portfolio today. Would love to add more BCE and Ventas that’s for sure.

    • Hi Tawcan,

Yea. I like BCE and looking into pulling trigger on TU, especially, later one has chances of being acquired by their bigger rivals. I own very few commodities stock: BBL and FCX are plays on that along with XME. Certainly, BBL is going thru rough time in Brazil and in general, however, we might be at low point where things could start brightening up in future. REITs have started to become expensive; I’m getting very selective in adding them now. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
