Recent Stock Purchase I – January 2016

I added positions in 2 existing companies first week of January: Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) and Main Street Capital (MAIN). I plan to use these dividend growth stocks to increase my passive dividend income over coming weeks and months. I updated my Portfolio and it shows all my latest positions.

Below are the companies where I put my capital on towards my race for earning $3000 per month in 3000 days. Last month, I completed 240 days of my freedom race and it was exciting to have crossed $400 in passive income again in Dec. Without further ado:

1) Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD): 20 positions at $37.49 on 1/06
2) Main Street Capital (MAIN): 10 positions at $28.75 on 1/04

Last year, I trimmed positions in Kinder Morgan, Inc. (KMI) and ONEOK, Inc. (OKE). This will help in tax loss harvesting and trim tax bills for 2015. Overall, I’ve 65 wonderful companies in my portfolio after additions of AFL, GD, LMT, MRK, QCOM, BUD, ED, KHCADM and VGR over last several weeks.

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

Thanks for reading.

  1. I like the TD buy. I still have all the Canadian banks on my radar this month and probably next too. I added to my BNS last week and will continue to watch those banks as they seemingly drop every day. Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi DH,

I’m happy to have TD in my portfolio. BNS is a solid buy with these depressed prices and looking forward to add these in near future. Yields are good and earnings growth is there. Always nice to hear your perspective and thanks for stopping by.
