Dividend Income Income – October 2016

I’ve completed 540 days of freedom race and it has been awesome so far. I’m truly blessed to be posting it from the country where Statue of Liberty stands. It stands for freedom and I hope to achieve my own financial freedom in 3000 days when I complete my race.

Wow. I crossed a milestone figure of $1500 in passive income third time this year. I’m super excited to write about my passive dividend checks that I received in month of Oct. They come into my account like a clockwork without lifting any fingers. So far, I’ve got 96 fantastic companies in my growing Portfolio

I hope that this passive income report provides inspiration to all the readers out there that even when you are starting out fresh, you can still do it. Although, it is a long race: slow and steady, we can win it on our terms and time. Without further ado, here are dividends received:

Baxter Intl. Inc. (BAX) : $1.95
BCE Inc. (BCE): $46.71
Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS): $66.38
Chatham Lodging Trust (CLDT): $42.90
Dow Chemical co. (DOW): $6.90
Dr Pepper Snapple (DPS): $5.30
EPR Properties (EPR): $16.00
General Electric (GE): $23.00
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK): $104.90
Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (HST): $30.00
JP Morgan Chase & Co,. (JPM): $14.40
The Kraft Heinz Co. (KHC): $12.00
Coca-Cola Co. (KO): $8.75

Nike Inc. (NKE): $2.40
Realty Income Corp. (O): $23.23
Occidental Pet. Corp (OXY): $19.00
Pebblebrook Hotel Trust (PEB): $45.60
Phillip Morris Intl., Inc. (PM): $176.80
PennantPark Investment (PNNT): $70.00
Reynolds American Inc. (RAI): $64.40
STAG Industrials, Inc. (STAG): $39.38
Starwood Property Trust (STWD): $192.00
Sysco Corp. (SYY): $1.55
Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD): $43.06
Telus Corp. (TU): $35.02
U.S. Bancorp (USB): $14.00
W.P. Carey, Inc. (WPC): $216.70

Total passive dividend income for Oct: $1502.44. So far this year, I’ve received $11051.48 in total passive dividend income.

Instead of getting a single salary once a month, I got paid by above companies throughout the month, simply by owning a tiny sliver of a slice. Imagine that there are thousands of people hired by those companies and that they are working for you, rather than, you working for them. This feeling of achieving financial freedom over 3000 days, is what drives me to keep racing and I’m sure readers alike!

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

How did your passive dividend income come along in October?

    • Hi Doug,

I’ve been adding companies slowly and steadily, that’s the key. No one knows what the market will do in future, so, its better to dollar cost average. There was a chatter of 10% correction earlier and now, all of a sudden, it seems like there is talk of Dow scaling even more height. I’m not in prediction game, although, talking honchos will keep throwing some numbers that would not even matter after a period of time. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  1. You don’t mess around. Your heavy buying in multiple solid paying dividend stocks is really showing its worth. For a “slow” month you have a pretty long list of companies paying you and an impressive dividend total. Congrats on crossing that $1500 milestone. Onward and upward!

    • Hi DH,

Thank you. Could not agree more, solid companies are the key drivers of the passive income. I was lucky to barely cross $1.5K this month, kept my fingers crossed till the very end of month but happy to have crossed it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    • Hi DD,

Ha! I worked so hard for it and now, reaping some rewards of that labor and sweat. With the market setting all times high almost on a daily basis, I’ve got a bit circumspect in terms of my buying. I thought market will have correction of some sort, but, it did not happen. • Hi MDP,

Ha! No doubt about that: that can provide some serious motivation to keep moving on that FI path. Thanks for the compliments. My goal is to get to $3K in 3K. I realized only recently that I’ve crossed half of the goal, that’s just fantastic. Champagne bottle is still hiding in the shelf till the goal is achieved 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    • Hi Lanny,

Yeah. that’s what we are talking about 🙂 I love Canadian banks and the staple sectors of the economy, they hold better even in recession. I second you: long live the div, onward towards a life that you want to live, where-ever you want to live, however you want to live and whatever you want to do with your time. Thanks for stopping by as always and commenting.

  3. You are 540 days in and already crossed your halfway mark on dividend income (this month at least). That is awesome! Good for you.
You are certainly on track to make your 3000/m in 3000 days!

    • Hi TCF,

Appreciate the kind words. I’m glad to have crossed half-way mark of my journey at this point of time, however, my purchases are slowing down. It’s a 3000 days marathon towards the goal of FI, where I do not need to worry about earning, allowing time to dedicate for the good of others as well. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
