Dividend Income Update – September 2016

I’ve completed 510 days of freedom race and it has been awesome with great support of DGI bloggers. I’m truly blessed to be posting it from a country where Statue of Liberty stands. It stands for freedom and I hope to achieve my own financial freedom in 3000 days when I complete my race.

Wow. I again crossed magic figure of $1500 in passive income. I’m super excited to write about my passive dividend checks that I received in month of September. They are now pouring into my account without lifting a finger. So far, I’ve got 95 fantastic companies in my growing Portfolio

I hope that this passive income report provides inspiration to all the readers out there that even when you are starting out fresh, you can still do it. Although, it is a long race: slow and steady, we can win it on our terms and time. Without further ado, here are dividends received:

Instead of getting a single salary once a month, I got paid by above fantastic companies throughout the month, simply by owning a tiny sliver of a slice. Imagine that there are thousands of people hired by those companies and that they are working for you, rather than, you working for them. This feeling of achieving financial freedom over 3000 days, is what drives me to keep racing and I’m sure readers alike!

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

  1. Holy smokes. Amazing freaking month. Love how you set the challenging goal and are making huge strides and doing everything you can to get there. Hopefully months like this area huge motivation for you to keep on grinding and keep on investing!

    • Hi Bert,

Months like these definitely provide huge motivation to me and I’m sure DGI community. Its feeling of being FI when I achieve my target that keeps driving me on this path. Thanks for stopping by as always.

    • Hi Doug,

Appreciate it. It was a big month, no doubt about that. In fact, I totally missed to note that I achieved half of my target goal of $3K in Sep month, this is fantastic. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  2. My reaction is similar to the above DD comment. All those crazy buys you have been making are really bringing in some real cash to your portfolio. Congrats on cracking $1,500 for the month. That’s more than enough to live on if you choose an expat life in Thailand, Ecuador, Panama, etc. Are you looking to even out your passive income a bit as I see your RDS is your big payer for the month. Once in ‘retirement’ I don’t think you want your dividend income coming in from just a handful of stocks. Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi DH,

Absolutely, $1.5K is more than enough to live in some countries. I’ve been hard at work in building the portfolio. I’d like to even out passive income from all companies, however, many consumer discretionary and defensive companies are richly valued at the moment. I’m fully in agreement with you to even out in order to reduce risk from few companies. Thanks for stopping by as always and commenting.

    • Hi MrSLM,

Yeah, it was a great Sep month, end of quarter months are lovely for all DGI bloggers. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  3. That is a very impressive number of compies that are paying you dividends! i absolutely love it.

you made more dividends this year than i was earning dividends AND option premiums. I earned 9400 or something like that this year.

    awesome work.
    keep it up!

    best regards

    • Hi Chri,

Appreciate the kind words. Yeah, I’ve been adding the companies slowly over a period of time and the passive income is the result of that and growth. I’m sure you will also achieve your target and cross last’s year total 🙂 Good luck in that. Thanks for stopping by as always.
