Dividend Income Update – October 2017

I’ve completed 900 days of freedom race and it has been awesome so far. I’m truly blessed to be posting it from the country where Statue of Liberty stands. It stands for freedom and I hope to achieve my own financial freedom in 3000 days when I complete my race.

I crossed figure of $1500 in passive income in last monthDue to several sales made over last several months, my dividend income has lowered someStill, I’m excited to write about my passive dividend checks that I received in month of October. They come into my account like a clockwork without lifting any fingers. So far, I’ve got 38 fantastic companies in my Portfolio

I hope that this passive income report provides inspiration to all the readers out there that even when you are starting out fresh, you can still do it. Although, it is a long race: slow and steady, we can win it on our terms and time. Without further ado, here are dividends received:

Apollo Inv. Inc. (AINV): $45
BCE Inc. (BCE): $171.72
Chatham Lodging Trust (CLDT): $77
EPR Properties (EPR): $34
Eaton-Vance In. (EXG): $38
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK): $150.30

Total passive dividend income for October: $1716.64.

Instead of getting a single salary once a month, I got paid by above companies throughout the month, simply by owning a tiny sliver of a slice. Imagine that there are thousands of people hired by those companies and that they are working for you, rather than, you working for them. This feeling of achieving financial freedom over 3000 days, is what drives me to keep racing and I’m sure readers alike!

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

How was your passive dividend income in the month of October?

  1. Wow, another stellar month, R2R! Two companies paying over $300 each, too… sweet. At least for this month, it looks like you are nearly 60% of the way to your goal, in only 30% of the planned time. Keep it growing! Lots of REITs… any concerns with diversification? Or is this part of the overall plan?

    • Hi ED,

Thank you for the analysis: that’s correct: easy part is done but remaining 1/3 is the hard part. Ideally, I would like to diversify and have similar income from each company over longer term. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    • Hi Dan,

Congrats on joining one comma club 🙂 It feels awesome to cross that barrier: it definitely says a lot about your hard work that goes behind that. Enjoy and savior it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  2. Another insane report. Just goes to show how fast and how far you grew your portfolio over the short term, even with a trimmed portfolio you are still bringing in some serious cash. I see a handful for heavy hitters for the month. Any plans to trim those positions a bit to even out the income?

    • Hi DH,

Thanks for the encouraging words. Yes, I made few trims this month that I need to post, as I feel uncomfortable with the market valuations. I also want to add few companies that I sold out earlier, however, problem is that those companies are still high and I’m going to wait for the market to correct. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  3. R2R,
I am amazed by the progress you’ve made in the past 2 years. I realized this month that only two of the stocks you’ve received dividends this month are listed in your portfolio. Do you have another link to your portfolio that I may have missed on your website?

    Mr. CoL

    • Hi Col,

Appreciate much for the like. I’ve made several buys and sells over a period of time and they have been posted here. yes, portfolio composition has changed over time, that I need to update when I get some spare time. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
