Dividend Income Update – October 2015

I’ve completed 180 days of freedom race and it has been awesome with the great support of DGI bloggers. I’m truly blessed to be posting it from the country where Statue of Liberty stands. It stands for freedom and I hope to achieve my own financial freedom in 3000 days when I complete my race.

I’m always excited to write about my passive dividend checks that I received last month of October. They are now pouring into my account without me lifting any fingers. So far, I’ve got 53 fantastic companies in my growing Portfolio, a new name: POT was added last week.

I hope that this passive income report provides inspiration to all the readers out there that even when you are starting out fresh, you can still do it. Although, it is a long race: slow and steady, we can win it on our terms and time. Without further ado, here are dividends received:

Baxter Intl. Inc. (BAX) : $1.15
Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS): $10.66
Dr Pepper Snapple (DPS): $2.40
General Electric (GE): $6.90
Keurig Green Mountain, Inc. (GMCR): $2.88
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK): $31.73
Main Street Capital Corp. (MAIN): $7.20
Altria Group, Inc. (MO): $28.25
Realty Income Corp. (O): $19.05
Phillip Morris Intl., Inc. (PM): $76.50
PennantPark Investment (PNNT): $28.00
Reynolds American Inc. (RAI): $7.20
STAG Industrials, Inc. (STAG): $5.18
Starwood Property Trust, Inc.(STWD): $21.60
Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD): $3.88
U.S. Bancorp (USB): $3.83
W.P. Carey, Inc. (WPC): $66.85

Total passive dividend income for September: $323.26. So far I’ve received $1,019.76  as passive dividend income and ahead of target. My new target this year is set to $1500 in Goals.

Instead of getting a single salary once a month, I got paid by 17 fantastic companies throughout the month, simply by owning a tiny sliver of a slice. Imagine that there are thousands of people hired by those companies and that they are working for you, rather than, you working for them. This feeling of achieving financial freedom over 3000 days, is what drives me to keep racing and I’m sure readers alike!

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

How did your passive dividend income come along in October?

Thanks for reading!

  1. 17 paychecks that work out to $300+. Got to love that. DGI is definitely not a quick process and you don’t really see the benefit of compounding/DG until around year 10 but it’s one of the most straightforward paths to building wealth and eventually freedom.

    • Hi JC,

It was stupendous to be getting 17 paychecks, rather than one 🙂 I’ll gladly take it any day of the week. Definitely, got to love it. Absolutely, it takes time and effort to build up the dividend machine and compounding to do its magic, but, it will. Thanks for stopping by and nice comments.

    • Hi DividendHustler,

Appreciate the warm words. Of course, its a shared journey and we will take it together. Its awesome support from DGI community. I’ve no qualms that I’ve undertaken a tough goal of earning $3000 per month in 3000 days and its very challenging, quite frankly looks daunting now, but, work hard for it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  2. The fun of receiving passive income. Congrats on another solid month. Your dividend income is really rolling in fast with all those buys you are making. You definitely have the focus for this long journey. Lots of great names paying you in October as well. Keep us the good work. Look forward to seeing how 2015 finally finishes.

    • Hi DH,

Yeah! You get to work in the beginning and then, enjoy the fruits of your hard work 🙂 That has been the time-tested mantra to get wealthy. Appreciate liking the names and nothing beats blue chip aristocrat companies. I’m also looking forward how 2015 finishes. But, it is all about consistency and if we need to add the skin in the game consistently. Thanks for stopping by as always and comments.

  3. I’m going to have to read some of your other posts about the 180 day challenge. I’m very interest to learn more about it and your journey towards financial freedom. You are right, these reports inspire me and many other in the community. I love how everyone shares there successes and encourages everyone else. I can’t wait for the day I receive your dividend income level and I am hoping I can get there by this time next year. We will see, but anything is possible! Keep up the great work and the fight.

    • Hi Bert,

I’ve set a tough challenge of earning $3K in 3K days and so far, so good, however, next year is going to be important for me as I’m still building the portfolio. These earnings inspire us to keep moving, these are real green bucks that you hold in your own hand and its not fake! This is the most beautiful aspect of the DGI investing. You and Lanny are doing great over there with all these KMI buys. Keep it up! Thanks for stopping as always and comments.

    • Hi IH,

Collecting these additional paychecks every month is much better than getting a single paycheck 🙂 Breaking $300 barrier was a great milestone for me, that I’m proud of, next is $400 or even $500 barrier, that will be awesome, whenever it happens! Thanks for stopping by and appreciate the comments.

    • Hi Sharon,

I’m at the beginning phase and its a long way to go to achieve that $3K/month. I see my small snow ball started to roll down the hill and in few years, I hope to see to see it grow it. Thanks for stopping by and comments.

    • Hi R2R,
