Dividend Income Update – June 2017

I’ve completed 780 days of freedom race and it has been awesome with great support of DGI bloggers. I’m truly blessed to be posting it from a country where Statue of Liberty stands. It stands for freedom and I hope to achieve my own financial freedom in 3000 days when I complete my race.

I crossed figure of $1500 in passive income. My spring cleanup of portfolio has started to take full brunt from this month. Still, I’m super excited to write about my passive dividend checks that I received in month of June. They pour into my account without lifting a finger. So far, I’ve got 34 fantastic companies in my Portfolio

I hope that this passive income report provides inspiration to all the readers out there that even when you are starting out fresh, you can still do it. Although, it is a long race: slow and steady, we can win it on our terms and time. Without further ado, here are dividends received:

Bank of America (BAC): $9.37
BP plc (BP): $192.00
Chatham Lodging Trust (CLDT): $77.00
EPR Properties (EPR): $34.00
Eaton Vance Fund (EXG): $38.00
Main Street Capital Corp. (MAIN): $253.00
New Mountain Finance Corp. (NMFC): $170.00
Realty Income Corp. (O): $36.92
Royal Dutch Shell, Inc. (RDS B): $281.06
Southern Company (SO): $58.00
STAG Industrials, Inc. (STAG): $58.33
Target Corp. (TGT): $21.00
Vector Group Ltd. (VGR): $280.00
Ventas Inc. (VTR): $100.75

Total passive dividend income for June: $1609.43

Instead of getting a single salary once a month, I got paid by above fantastic companies throughout the month, simply by owning a tiny sliver of a slice. Imagine that there are thousands of people hired by those companies and that they are working for you, rather than, you working for them. This feeling of achieving financial freedom over 3000 days, is what drives me to keep racing and I’m sure readers alike!

Full Disclosure: Long on several of above mentioned stocks.

  1. Awesome job as always! Very impressive. I was able to hit 4digits as well, but definitely not as much as you! Keep it up,

    • Hi PID,

Congrats on hitting 4 digits, its a great achievement and needs to be celebrated with champagne for sure 🙂 Thanks for stopping by as always and commenting.

  2. A super impressive total as always. I see a few REITs paying you for the month. I wonder if I should boost my REIT exposure to include some of those popular names like CLDT, STAG, EPR and others. Congrats on cracking the $1500 mark. The race continues…

    • Hi DH,

Thank you. I like both the reits and energy companies due to decent yields, though with higher volatility. I like your portfolio with rock solid companies. Thanks for stopping by as always and commenting.

  3. Wow, that are impressive numbers, month after month. Congrats!! This is inspiration for sure, thanks for sharing. Your holdings remind me that i want to add EPR Properties and maybe Chatham Lodging Trust to my portfolio. I just purchased Cisco as a new position and added AT&T.

    • Hi DS,

Appreciate the likes. I’ve thought long and hard about Cisco and almost bought it. But, I’m now bit cautious on tech companies as valuations are getting into inflated territory. Great job on div income. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  4. Great results! I always love these list which shows all the passive income other bloggers can generate. If you continue like this, you’ll get to to that 3000 target sooner than hitting the 3000 days easily 🙂

    • Hi Divnomics,

Appreciate the like. I’ve slowed down significantly after building portfolio over time and currently, not adding much money due to high market valuations: I’m on the side lines right now. Its still a long journey of 3K and requires lot of perseverance. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  5. R2R –

MAN!! This is insane. Seriously, just mowing down the dividends. Thoughts on how heavy the oil dividends are? Representing over 25% of the total divs! Nice work, great figures here and would cover all of my expenses for a month.

    • Hi Lanny,

Thanks for pointing out. Yeah, I’m little over weight in energy companies, than I would like: over time, I’ll diversify to other segments as well. As they say portfolio construction is a continuous process.

    • Hi BHL,

Appreciate it and thank you for following. Its amazing journey and happy to be part of it. I’m looking for my next 2nd big step of $2k: we will see if it can happen this year: that will be really awesome. Thanks for stopping by as always and commenting.

    • Hi IH,

It was amazing to have crossed $1.5k and anytime a significant milestone is hit, its fantastic. Congrats on having a great month

  6. R2R, you are clearly winning the race to retirement. passing the $1500 mark is awesome and you are getting income from a diverse group of companies. It is definitely inspiring to those of us who are at the beginning stages of our journey.

    • Hi DP,
