Dividend Income Update – June 2015

I’ve completed 60 days of freedom race and it has been awesome with the great support of DGI bloggers out there. I’m truly blessed to be posting it from the country where Statue of Liberty stands. It stands for freedom and I hope to achieve my own financial freedom in 3000 days when I complete my race.

I’m super excited to write about my passive dividend checks that I started receiving last month of June. That was the first time I received them and they are now pouring into my bank.

I hope that this passive income report provides inspiration to all the readers out there that even when you are starting out fresh, you can still win it. Although, it is a long race: slow and steady, we can win it on our terms and time. Without further ado, here are dividends received:

Avista Corp. (AVA) : $6.60
ConocoPhillips (COP): $10.95
Chevron Corp. (CVX): $12.75
Main Street Capital Corp. (MAIN): $2.75
National Oilwell Inv., Inc. (NOV): $4.60
Realty Income Corp. (O): $3.79
Royal Dutch Shell plc (RDS B): $14.10
U.S. Bancorp (USB): $3.95

Main Street Capital (MAIN) distributed a bonus dividend of $2.75 which was great!

Total passive dividend income for June: $70.19

Instead of getting a single salary once a month, I got paid by 8 fantastic companies throughout the month, simply by owning a tiny sliver of a slice. Imagine that there are thousands of people hired by those companies and that they are working for you, rather than, you working for them. This feeling of acquiring financial freedom over 3000 days, is what drives me to keep racing and I’m sure readers alike!

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

How did your passive dividend income came along in June?

Thanks for reading!

  1. Great job! My June dividends were pretty solid. I average close to $1,000 per month in dividends, not counting my 401K. (or my rentals). Most of what I have is just index ETFs.

Keep up the great work, it come slow, but it does come.

    • Appreciate the kinds words, NNL. $1000 per month is a hack of passive income and it only shows that you are doing great over there, congrats on your success. These kinds of comments only show the powerful force of investing.

Index funds are also a great wealth builder: slow and steady growth and I’ve them in 401K account. However, most of the index funds do not return as much cash as some of the DGI stocks like the ones in my portfolio.

Definitely, it will come: the only important thing is that we need to keep running the race, there could be some bumps along the road but as long as direction is up, we can not complain 🙂

  2. Your excitement reporting on your dividend income really shows in this post. Congrats on starting your snowball rolling. It only gets better form here. I see you have some pretty high yield names paying you last month such as MAIN, AVA, NOV and the like. Any time you can get 4% or more from an investment these days is nice. Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi DH,

Yeah. I’m super excited to post it 🙂 Anything around 4% is just fantastic. I wanted to buy more MAIN but it is running faster than me! Hope to catch it at some point. NOV may slide more down and would love to average down. Appreciate the kind words. It means a lot to keep me pushing forward.
