Dividend Income Update – July 2016

I’ve completed 450 days of freedom race and it has been awesome so far. I’m truly blessed to be posting it from the country where Statue of Liberty stands. It stands for freedom and I hope to achieve my own financial freedom in 3000 days when I complete my race.

Wow. I crossed a milestone figure of $1000 in passive income third time this year. I’m super excited to write about my passive dividend checks that I received in month of July. They come into my account like a clockwork without lifting any fingers. So far, I’ve got 94 fantastic companies in my growing Portfolio

I hope that this passive income report provides inspiration to all the readers out there that even when you are starting out fresh, you can still do it. Although, it is a long race: slow and steady, we can win it on our terms and time. Without further ado, here are dividends received:

Baxter Intl. Inc. (BAX) : $1.95
BCE Inc. (BCE): $18.44
Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS): $49.01
Chatham Lodging Trust (CLDT): $12.10
Walt Disney Co. (DIS): $3.55
Dow Chemical co. (DOW): $2.30
Dr Pepper Snapple (DPS): $5.30
EPR Properties (EPR): $9.60
General Electric (GE): $16.10
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK): $90.00
Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (HST): $15.00
The Kraft Heinz Co. (KHC): $11.50
Coca-Cola Co. (KO): $7.00
Main Street Capital Corp. (MAIN): $46.80
Altria Group, Inc. (MO): $79.10
Merk & Co. Inc. (MRK): $18.40
Nike Inc. (NKE): $0.80
Realty Income Corp. (O): $22.94
Occidental Pet. Corp (OXY): $3.75
Pebblebrook Hotel Trust (PEB): $7.60
Phillip Morris Intl., Inc. (PM): $153.00
PennantPark Investment (PNNT): $56.00
Reynolds American Inc. (RAI): $48.30
STAG Industrials, Inc. (STAG): $28.96
Starwood Property Trust (STWD): $120.00
U.S. Bancorp (USB): $12.75
W.P. Carey, Inc. (WPC): $196.00

Total passive dividend income for July: $1036.25. Note that JPM and TD will be accounted for next month as they fell on weekend. So far this year, I’ve received $6470.64  in total passive dividend income.

Instead of getting a single salary once a month, I got paid by above companies throughout the month, simply by owning a tiny sliver of a slice. Imagine that there are thousands of people hired by those companies and that they are working for you, rather than, you working for them. This feeling of achieving financial freedom over 3000 days, is what drives me to keep racing and I’m sure readers alike!

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

How did your passive dividend income come along in July?

  1. Keep it up R2R. That’s an awesome portfolio that’s spitting out dividends. Great job bro! Keep at it and slowly and steadily… you’ll kill it and then some. No doubt.
Thanks for sharing and let’s take our lives to better and better.
    Cheers buddy!

    • Hi DH,

Appreciate the kind words: I’m trying very hard to diversify to different sectors of economy and spreading the bets. Some will turn out to be bad bets and some good, beyond our wildest imagination. I’m not surprised that market always manage to surprise us by throwing curve balls when least expected. We keep doing our job and market does its own 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    • Hi ED,

Thank you. Yeah, whenever that magic number of $1K is hit, its a wonderful feeling for me and I’m sure for everyone. Next barrier to hit is $2K, and that will be awesome whenever it happens. I call $1K as first step, $2K as second one and $3K is the final big step towards FI. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  2. Your dividend income is really rocking and rolling. All those purchases you have been making are already contributing to a nice income stream. Nice long list of companies paying you too. I still haven’t achieved the four figure mark yet but am working my way there. Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi DH,

Appreciate the kind words. Absolutely, $1K is the first step in long journey and I’m sure that you will hit soon. Yeah, I want to add many companies to spread out the odds in case some companies cut the dividends or eliminate them in future. Thanks for stopping by as always.

  3. Congrats on the big 1K month. It is amazing to get paid just for being an owner right. I am on my way to breaking 7K this year and I look forward to reaching your level 1 day. Keep up the good work.

    • Hi EL,

Yeah, it was a big month for sure. Absolutely, being the owner is the greatest feeling and getting paid for that, but, we worked hard to acquire ownership. Congrats on breaking $7K, that’s fantastic, its more than $500 that you do not need to work for rest of your life. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
