Dividend Income Update – December 2016

I’ve completed 600 days of freedom race and it has been awesome with great support of DGI bloggers. I’m truly blessed to be posting it from a country where Statue of Liberty stands. It stands for freedom and I hope to achieve my own financial freedom in 3000 days when I complete my race.

Wow. I crossed milestone figure of $1700 in passive income. I’m super excited to write about my passive dividend checks that I received in month of December. They are now pouring into my account without lifting a finger. So far, I’ve got 95 fantastic companies in my growing Portfolio

I hope that this passive income report provides inspiration to all the readers out there that even when you are starting out fresh, you can still do it. Although, it is a long race: slow and steady, we can win it on our terms and time. Without further ado, here are dividends received:

Instead of getting a single salary once a month, I got paid by above fantastic companies throughout the month, simply by owning a tiny sliver of a slice. Imagine that there are thousands of people hired by those companies and that they are working for you, rather than, you working for them. This feeling of achieving financial freedom over 3000 days, is what drives me to keep racing and I’m sure readers alike!

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

  1. Race –

You’re going to be one scary dividend machine once you hit the 1500 day mark. Heck, you are already on a tear as is. So many stocks, it’s awesome – not tied to one entity and so many checks to cash. Keep up the motivational material and talk soon!

    • Hi Lanny,

Thank you. It has been a hectic buying schedule so far to achieve $3K in 3K. I want to add some pharma companies and consumer staples to better balance the portfolio, energy has been on a tear since some time, which was surprising in the speed of recovery but I still see challenges if shale oil again starts pouring. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  2. R2R,

Awesome job at surpassing $1.7k! Looking forward to seeing what next December’s number is.

I noticed you mentioned ‘June’ in your article…just wanted to point out that small oversight to assist!

Keep it up and congrats on your success through your first 600 days!

    • Hi PID,

Thanks for pointing out. I’m also excited to see what next Dec numbers will be. Appreciate the kind words. I hope to touch $2K sometime this year. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  3. R2R,

Damn you are posting some inspiring results! I love the big gun oil companies BP and Shell! The prices have run up quite a bit, but are still pretty solid at these levels and have held strong with the dividend payments. Keep cranking!!

    • Hi MDP,

Big guns have indeed moved a lot 🙂 I might trim them a bit if they run a bit more, as I want to better balance sector allocations. We will see how they move this year, could be in any direction. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    • Hi IH,

There is no question about that, I myself never imagined where I’ll be. Slow and steady is the key, its about the journey that needs to start at some point and the rest is done by magic of time and compounding. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  4. Your dividend snowball is a giant. With your consistent buying you have created a serious money generating machine. As always, I love reading these updates as I see for myself what can be achieved from a solid passive income portfolio. Lots of names paying you in December. Keep it diversified. Have a great ’17!

    • Hi DH,
