Dividend Income Update – August 2016

I’ve completed 480 days of freedom race and it has been awesome with all the support. I’m truly blessed to be posting it from the country where Statue of Liberty stands. It stands for freedom and I hope to achieve my own financial freedom in 3000 days when I complete my race.

Wow. I absolutely smashed passive income this month crossing $1500 for the first time ever, holly! I’m super excited to write about my passive dividends received in month of Aug. They flowed into my account even without me lifting any fingers. So far, I’ve got 95 fantastic companies in my Portfolio. Its not long ago that I celebrated my first Blogoversary. Time passes fast! Grateful to have such a committed readership and great support of all DGI bloggers.

I hope that this passive income report provides inspiration to all the readers out there that even when you are starting out fresh, you can still do it, like my journey just short time back. Although, it is a long race: slow and steady, we can win it on our terms and time. Without further ado, here are dividends received:

    • Hi DH,

It absolutely feel wonderful whenever you get a new check in mail 🙂 Appreciate the kind words and Congrats on your success over there. Thanks for stopping by as always.

    • Hi Doug,

Thank you so much. Aug month was fantastic for me and if I can match this month, that would a feat for me, we will see how Sept works out for us. Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Race2R,

Wow… Just wow. Straight dominating the dividend game! Definitely wish I had that sort of income in an “off-month” being August, that’s for sure. HCP is a huge hitter for your portfolio and hope that stays that way, great income you are generating from REITs I see. Congratulations and keep it up! No stopping you now.

    • Hi Lanny,

My off-month has been first month of every quarter, it depends on ones investments. I’ve some concerns reg HCP but, I guess, risk is in the very nature of investment. No risks, no rewards 🙂 Appreciate the kind words. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  3. Awesome total for August. Congrats on achieving a serious milestone for your passive income. Do you plan to even out your dividend income going forward so as to not be as dependent on just a handful of companies for the bulk of your income? It’s a challenge for my portfolio as well. Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi DH,

I agree, would prefer to equalize the contributions of companies, however, its a challenge from valuation perspective. Right now, consumer staples and defensive are at very high territory, limiting my scope to perform balance. Thanks for stopping by as always and commenting.

    • Hi IH,

I’m working to diversify and put the capital to work, but, once it is deployed, it will get slow. My target is $3K in 3K days and if I achieve a little early, so much better, FI at ripe age when you can enjoy your time with family. Thanks for stopping by as always and congrats on your nice options income over there.

    • Hi MrSLM,

Appreciate the kind words. I’ve been working hard to achieve my target of $3K in 3K, half way there, what a slog it has been. Its not an easy path however, rewards are self evident. Slow and steady is the mantra. You are doing great over there. congrats on a great month, inspiring to all of us. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
