Dividend Income Update – January 2016

I’ve completed 270 days of freedom race and it has been awesome with the great support of DGI bloggers. I’m truly blessed to be posting it from the country where Statue of Liberty stands. It stands for freedom and I hope to achieve my own financial freedom in 3000 days when I complete my race.

Wow. I crossed a milestone figure of $500 in passive income, holy molly cow. I’m super excited to write about my passive dividend checks that I received in month of January. They are now pouring into my account without doing any work. So far, I’ve got 66 fantastic companies in my growing Portfolio

I hope that this passive income report provides inspiration to all the readers out there that even when you are starting out fresh, you can still do it. Although, it is a long race: slow and steady, we can win it on our terms and time. Without further ado, here are dividends received:

Instead of getting a single salary once a month, I got paid by 19 fantastic companies throughout the month, simply by owning a tiny sliver of a slice. Imagine that there are thousands of people hired by those companies and that they are working for you, rather than, you working for them. This feeling of achieving financial freedom over 3000 days, is what drives me to keep racing and I’m sure readers alike!

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

How did your passive dividend income come along in first month of new year?

Recent Stock Purchase IV – January 2016

I added positions in 3 existing companies and 2 new companies: Target Corp (TGT) and Yum! Brands, Inc. (YUM) in final week of January. I plan to keep accumulating these dividend growth stocks to grow my passive dividend income to a point where all my expenses are covered by the passive income generated by them.

Below are the companies where I put my capital on towards my race for earning $3000 per month in 3000 days. This month, I’ll complete 270 days of my freedom race. It was great to have crossed $400 in passive income last year and will be interesting to see when $500 barrier is breached :) I’m totaling them up and will be posting it soon, keep an eye on it. Without further ado:

1) Bank of Nova-Scotia (BNS): 10 positions at $38.73 on 1/27

Last year, I trimmed positions in Kinder Morgan, Inc. (KMI) and ONEOK, Inc. (OKE) for tax-harvesting purpose, however, I may add few of them this year As a result of addition of 2 new companies:Target Corp (TGT) and Yum! Brands, Inc. (YUM), total number went up to 66 wonderful companies in my portfolio.

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

Below are the companies where I put my capital on towards my race for earning $3000 per month in 3000 days. Last month, I completed 240 days of my freedom race and it was great to have crossed $400 in passive income again in Dec, will be interesting to see when $500 barrier is breached 🙂 Without further ado:

Recent Stock Purchase II – January 2016

I added positions in 3 existing companies second week of January. Market has been on a boil lately and offering numerous opportunities to a patient investor. Now that crude oil is trading below $30 per barrel, a decade low, it looks like that oil can’t seem to find a bottom and energy companies by extension. It is quite possible that dividends could be cut in near future if oil prices do not recover and a new round of down slide in energy stocks could ensure. As a result, I’m not adding any more capital in energy companies, unless, prices go real crazy.

Below are the companies where I put my capital on towards my race for earning $3000 per month in 3000 days. Last month, I completed 240 days of my freedom race and it was great to have crossed $400 in passive income again in Dec. It’ll be awesome when $500 barrier is breached 🙂 Without further ado:

1) HCP, Inc. (HCP): 10 positions at $36.86 on 1/12
2) Johnson & Johnson (JNJ): 5 positions at $97.99 on 1/12
3) Kraft Heinz Co. (KHC): 5 positions at $68.99 on 1/15
4) Pfizer Inc. (PFE): 10 positions at $31.37 on 1/12

Keurig Green Mountain (GMCR) is being acquired by JAB Holding for $92/share and it was almost a 2-bagger for me. Not happy to see it go, but, do not mind seeing the capital gain 🙂 I’ll also need to replace it with other company as well. I updated my Portfolio recently and it shows all my latest positions.

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks.

Do you like any of these recent buys? Considering to add them in near future.
